Candied cherries are readily available around the holidays in the baking section. (Used a lot in fruitcakes) Usually come in a small plastic bowl container and are red or green. I can't wait to try this but will probably use maraschino cherries as well just because I like them better.

My kids and I loved this bread. I omitted the nuts. I also couldn't find any candied nuts so I took the advice of the other reviewer and added a few chopped maraschino cherries. This bread is moist and yummy!

A very tasty desert bread. I didn't use mini choc.chips but just the regular size. I used just under 1/2 cup because I didn't want the bread to be chocolate heavy (if that makes any sense). Also, not sure what candied cherries are. I just used a jar of marrachino cherries (chopped up). The recipe came out great. I would recommend it. PS. Make sure to use over-ripe bananas.
