(15-oz.) can spicy chili beans, undrained

hot dog buns, split
1/4
cup chopped onion, if desired

(3/4-oz.) slices American cheese, each cut into 4 strips

Directions

  1. 1 GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. When ready to grill, place hot dogs on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals. Cook 5 to 6 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning frequently.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, heat beans in small saucepan over medium heat until hot.
  3. 3 Place buns, cut side down, on grill; cook 30 to 60 seconds or until lightly toasted.
  4. 4 Place hot dogs in buns. Top each with about 1/4 cup beans, onion and 2 cheese strips. If desired, place sandwiches on grill; cover grill and heat until cheese is melted.
