Dinner ready in 30 minutes! Enjoy this delicious chile burgers recipe that can be grilled or broiled – it’s delight either ways.

Ingredients

1
lb. lean ground turkey
2
teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2
teaspoon onion powder
1/4
cup light cream cheese (from 8-oz. tub)
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1
teaspoon chili powder
4
large Anaheim chiles
4
whole-grain or onion burger buns, split*
1/4
cup salsa

Steps

  • 1 GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. In medium bowl, combine turkey, Worcestershire sauce and onion powder; mix well. Shape into 4 patties.
  • 2 In small bowl, combine cream cheese and ground red pepper; mix well. Spoon about 1 tablespoon cheese mixture onto center of each patty. Wrap turkey mixture around cheese to enclose completely; seal well. Flatten each into 1/2-inch-thick patty. Sprinkle both sides of each patty with about 1/8 teaspoon chili powder.
  • 3 When ready to grill, oil grill rack. Place turkey patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals. Cook patties 6 to 8 minutes. Turn patties; cook an additional 6 to 8 minutes or until no longer pink in center.
  • 4 Meanwhile, place chiles on grill; cook 5 minutes. Turn chiles; cook an additional 5 minutes or until tender and slightly charred. Remove chiles from grill; peel any blistered skin that comes off easily. Slice chiles lengthwise into 1/2-inch-wide strips, removing seeds if desired. Serve burgers in buns, topped with chile strips and salsa.
