Chicken Sausage Veggie Calzones

Ingredients

cup tomato pasta sauce
2
links (3 oz each) fully cooked chicken apple or smoked turkey sausage, sliced
1/2
cup julienne-cut bell pepper (any color)
1/2
cup julienne-cut onion
1
can (11.3 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated artisan dinner rolls made with whole grain*
1/4
cup shredded mozzarella cheese (1 oz)
Oil, as desired
Additional tomato pasta sauce, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray.
  2. 2 In medium bowl, mix 1/2 cup pasta sauce, the sausage slices, bell pepper and onion.
  3. 3 Divide dough into 4 pieces. Working with 1 dough piece at a time, press or roll each to form 6- to 6 1/2-inch round. Spoon one-fourth of sausage mixture over half of each round. Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon cheese. Carefully fold dough over cheese on each; press edges with fork to seal. Brush tops of each with oil.
  4. 4 Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve with additional pasta sauce.
