Ingredients

boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1/2
teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

cups purchased nonfat chunky vegetable pasta sauce

oz. (1/2 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese

(3/4-inch-thick) diagonal slices French or Italian bread, lightly toasted*

Directions

  1. 1 Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat until hot. Sprinkle both sides of chicken breast halves with Italian seasoning. Place chicken in skillet; cook about 5 minutes on each side or until lightly browned.
  2. 2 Add pasta sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cover and cook 5 to 6 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center.
  3. 3 Sprinkle cheese over chicken; cover and cook 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
  4. 4 Place 1 slice of toasted bread on each of 4 plates. Top each with 1/4 of sauce and 1 chicken breast half.
