I need to find a way to make these cookies 'diabetes friendly' as a few family members can no longer indulge in these high carb/high sugar treats. I could make my own cookie dough and substitute Splenda for the sugar, but both the icing & the cherries might be a problem that I can't fix. Any ideas would be most welcome :)

I made these cookies during the Christmas season a few years back and they were a big hit! And make no mistake about it....they are sinfully rich!

Made these last night for my son''s Christmas party. I did not coat the cherries in chocolate, and I removed the stems. My kids loved them, and dubbed them "Rudolph cookies" because they look like snouts with a red nose! I''m really impressed!

So I just finished these cookies for a work Christmas party and they turned out GREAT!!! I had to get my mom to come over ans approve and she was all "thumbs up"! They were quick and easy to make! All the family can work together to make them! Family Fun!

I was very glad to find the high altitude directions. I used the maraschino cherries. This is a very easy and quick dessert. My guests raved. The only thing I did not love was that these were a little too sweet for me.

My daughter loves cherries and chocolate dipped ones are even better, and on a chocolate chip cookie even better.
