My aunt use to make something like this using little little 2 in. x 2 in. party rye bread squres. We use to get them in the bakery/deli department at the store. They were great! I can't wait to try this using the crescent rolls.

Could this recipe be done using Pillsbury crescent roll dough? Cut out the dough using a star cookie cutter, place the ingredients on top and bake according to pillsbury crescent directions.
