These were fine, but nothing too stand out-ish in my opinion. There are a bazillion different potato dish recipes that all taste about the same to me. I think this is another variation on those. Not bad, but nothing exceptional. Just a plain old potato side dish.

These potatoes are FAB-U-LOUS! They are my son's absolute favorite side dish. We make them for every function and the pan is always scraped clean. I do just a few things different with this recipe. First, we use 1/2 cup butter. I melt that and stir it into "frozen" hashbrowns. Then I mix in "cheddar cheese" and "cream of chicken soup" and the sour cream. We don't add onions. I bake it uncovered for an hour and they are just bubbly, cheesy and delicious. Sometimes, we take about a cup and a half of crushed corn flakes, mix it with 1/4 cup melted butter and spread this on top of the potatoes before baking. This makes a wonderful cruchy topping. You won't be disappointed if you try this recipe.
