This is a great recipe. I make this soup all the time. My husband loves potatoes, any way.

It sounds absolutely wonderful. To avoid lumps due to flour, I will probably shake flour & milk together in jar. That always works for gravy/sauces, too. Will also use the green onions on top and add shredded carrots for color and flavor.

This is a great recipe, I have made it several times, doubling and tripling it depending on how many I feed. I do 2 things slightly different, I use the Oscar Mayer bacon bits in place of the bacon, cuts down on grease and just before serving I put a crusty piece of french bread on top.

great comfort-food soup! Made it for dinner tonight & we loved all the potatoey-bacony-cheesey-yummy flavors! Will definitely make again & again & again. Also, it's a meal in itself, very filling. I added carrots, too.

I must of done something wrong...It was bad. The flour and milk made lumps in the soup.

This soup was not only easy but delicious. Couple it with a nice loaf of crusty bread and you are good to go. Someone mentioned the flour taste which you can avoid by using same amount of potato flakes. Ours was enough for another meal to which I added some thinly sliced Italian sausage which I cooked ahead. Also added some peas for color and a few sliced carrots - also an excellent meal. You cannot go wrong with this one and it will be a staple in our menus. Budget wise also.

This is an excellent cheesy potato soup. Easy to make. Just the right amount of cheese. I had to make it on top of the stove as I wanted it for lunch and didn't have the time for a slow cooker. Also, I topped it with bacon, cheese and green onions. But anyway you top it, it's GOOD. I'll be making it again soon.

I made this for a card party for 12 people and they all loved it and wanted the recipe. Then I made it again for my family and it was a big hit from the 8 year old to the grown kids.

I used this recipe today as a guide to use up left over mashed potatoes and cooked it on top of the stove. Cooked the onions, celery and bacon slightly and then used chicken broth to thin the potatoes. I put sliced green onion on top of soup when served. Forgot to add the cheese, but my husband loved it. Will never throw out left over mashed potates agin.
