Cheesy Chicken and Broccoli

This is an easy "go-to" recipe for quick weeknight suppers. Don't like broccoli? Use your favorite fresh or frozen veggies instead. Pasta and rice are really great with this, but we think stuffing would be delicious, too!

package (14 oz) uncooked chicken breast strips for stir-fry
1
pouch (9 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce
1
bag (12 oz) Green Giant™ Steamers™ frozen broccoli florets
1 1/2
cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
Hot cooked pasta or rice, if desired

  • 1 Heat 1 tablespoon oil in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken in oil 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink in center. Drain if necessary.
  • 2 Add cooking sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; heat to boiling. Stir in broccoli; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered about 5 minutes or until broccoli is tender. Remove from heat.
  • 3 Stir in 1 cup of the cheese until melted. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover; let stand 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve with pasta.
