Recipe Ingredients
Take a look at the ingredients needed to make this recipe.
Beef: We like 90% lean ground beef here, and don’t drain the excess fat after cooking the beef. A little fat adds a lot of flavor! If you use beef with a higher fat content, remove all but about 1 to 2 tablespoons of fat from the skillet once the beef is cooked.
Onion Soup Mix: This seasoning shortcut is our secret flavor booster! The soup mix adds deep, savory flavor that boosts the beefiness in the cheeseburger filling. Look for it with seasonings at the store.
Shredded American or Cheddar Cheese: American is our pick for its creamy, melty texture, but if you can’t find it shredded, cheddar is a great substitute.
Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: Crescents are the “bun” of this cheeseburger casserole, soaking up the delicious flavor of the filling as it bakes.
You’ll Also Need: Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, relish.

How to Make Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole
Here’s how to make Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole.
1. Make the Filling
Cook the beef until browned, then add the seasonings and heat through. Remove the filling from heat, mix in the cheese, and pour the filling into a pie plate.
2. Roll the Crescents
Separate the crescent triangles, and arrange them in a spoke pattern over the top of the filling, rolling up the base of the triangles to mimic the outer edge of a pie crust.
3. Bake, Top, and Serve
Sprinkle the crescents with remaining cheese, and bake until the cheese is bubbly and the crescents are golden brown and puffed. Serve wedges topped with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes.
How to Store (and Reheat) Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole
Here’s how to store your leftovers.
Refrigerator
Store any leftover casserole in an airtight food storage container—or covered tightly with foil in the baking dish—in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Refrigerate any leftovers within 2 hours of serving.
We don’t recommend freezing this casserole as the crescent dough will become soggy.
Reheating
Reheat casserole in the baking dish, or transfer from a food storage container to an oven-safe dish. Cover loosely with foil and heat in a 325°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated to 165°F (use a food thermometer). Uncover for the last 5 minutes of cooking to re-crisp the crescent dough.
