Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, onion, salt and pepper over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • 2 Stir in soup, peas and water. Heat to boiling, about 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Meanwhile, separate dough into 10 biscuits. Wrap biscuit around each cheese cube, pinching edges to seal.

  • 5 Bake 13 to 18 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.

This was so easy to make and tasted great. Much better than premade mix boxes.

Mom useta make this for us in the 1960's and now my kids ask for it, too! This version differs from the 1962 receipe in that during the 60's you had to make your own biscuit dough. Kinda prefer making my own biscuits - takes only a few minutes more

Was much better after adding some chili powder. It was just to bland for our taste. The tomato soup was just too overpowering.

I have been making this recipe since 1962 when I found it in the 1962 bakeoff cookbook, which I still have. It is one of our favorites. My husband likes it the day I make it and again the next day for lunch.
