I've been making these since 1996 when the Bake-Off cookbook they were in came out. They are so, so delicious! I used to have trouble getting the two middle biscuits to cook all the way before the top got too brown, but that may have been the oven I had back then. Because of that, I revised my cooking method and still use it today; I bake them in a round cake pan with the biscuits arranged like spokes of a wheel. Everyone devours these and nobody cares about the main course, so now I make just these for a lunch or big snack.
