The first time I made these, I just wanted to see how they were. My 3 daughters and my wife went crazy over them. I have made them on several occassions since then, including for a wedding. These are a big hit no matter what!!!

I made these for a work group at church and they were a HUGE hit. I followed the recipe exactly...including the called for ingredients. They were cut to the size called for also. Yes, they are rich, but DELICIOUS.

Do NOT use candy carmels. Use the carmel dipping stuff. I used regular carmel candies and it did not turn out AT ALL. The chocolate/caramel mixture never did get smooth. The chocolate started to burn even at a lower heat and the whole thing ended up in one big clump. Awful. When alse fails, follow directions I guess! Hope this helps someone else:)

This recipe was good and easy. Made them for a bake sale and they went quickly. Wouldn't be the least expensive recipe to make though.

I actually used less chocolate - I found it a little overkill. You definitely only need a small piece at a time.

I would cut back on the rice krispies by a 1/2 cup. There was too much dry mixture for the second layer and made it tricky to spread.

This recipe is great. The bars look as though they would be a crunchy treat, but they are soft and chewy with a slight crunch that is a welcome surprise. Also on appearance many thought they would be too sweet, but all were happy with the salty/sweet balance.
