Love this pie. The only thing I do differently is I don't use a pillsbury pie crust, I use crushed oreos with melted butter/margarine, which I then press into a pie plate. Definitely a huge improvement. And that way you can put it in any size/shape dish you like! I also often offer whipped cream to top it, as some people say it is too strong/sweet, especially if they are not huge caramel fans.

I made 2 of these for a neighborhood 4th of July cookout and they were a smash! I made both at the same time with no problems. The only thing I did different was I garnished the entire top of both pies with caramelized almonds then put the pies in the refrigerator until the party the next day. I'm making them again for a Labor Day cookout.

This pie is wonderful and fairly easy to make. It takes a little time, but not difficult at all.
