I thought 1 1/2 c of butter seemed excessive,and also noticed the recipe didn't call for any eggs. But I still thought I'd give it a try. After bars cooled, I cut them and the edges were pretty hard (where the caramel had baked against the side of the pan) but everywhere else was extremely soft, almost to the point of crumbling. The taste wasn't as great as I thought it would be and the bars were pretty greasy. I put them in the fridge overnight and I'm hoping by morning they will be hardened enough to not fall apart. We will eat them, but won't make again.
