OK this was a disaster. And I'm a good candy maker. I will stick to the tried and true method of unwrapping the little caramels and melting in the pan!

I have been wanting to learn to make my own caramel for a while now to save on money since I have 5 kids. I followed the directions knowing that the first time would be a flop, but that I would learn from it and try again. It was a great success the first time! I will surely make this again and try with nuts or sprinkles like in the photo.
