Made this this evening for our son's birthday party tomorrow. Just took a little taste and it is very good. Like some other reviewers said, like an apple crisp that you can pick up and eat on the go. The crust, at least now while it is warm, was almost melt in your mouth. Like a custard. The kids love apple crisp, so know they'll love this new dish.

I loved this recipe. To make it easier and less clean up I didn't heat the caramel topping, i bought a regular caramel topping and heated it in microwave for 45 seconds and then drizzled over top of apples. It tasted very good and reduced the clean-up!
