Candied Spiced Nut Mix

Bake mixed nuts flavored with pumpkin pie spice to make these tasty snacks – perfect for anytime munching.

Ingredients

1/2 cups sugar

teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt

egg whites

tablespoon water

containers (9.5 oz each) mixed nuts with almonds, cashews and pecans
  • 1 Heat oven to 300°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking parchment paper. In large bowl, mix sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt; set aside.
  • 2 In another large bowl, beat egg whites and water with wire whisk until foamy. Add nuts, stirring until evenly coated. Pour nut mixture into colander; drain well. Add nuts to sugar mixture, stirring until coated. With slotted spoon, remove nuts from sugar mixture, shaking to remove excess sugar. Place nuts in single layer in pan.
  • 3 Bake 30 to 35 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack. Break nuts apart. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
