I felt that it didn't need the whipped topping. It was perfect without it. Also, if you don't have Granny Smith add a tsp of lemon juice to cut the sweetness of other apples.

Been looking for a good apple pie!! We dont like aldente apple pie. The macatosh make it good. Everyone loved it! Of course we put icecream on it pie ala mode

This was the best pie I ever made! I brought it to work and it was gone within minutes. It's almost like the best of both worlds if you like pie and apple crisp.

This was my first attempt ever to make a pie and it turned out nicely! I didn't eat it but my husband said it was pretty good. he especially liked the streussel on top.

This is the perfect apple pie. Made it for some friends, right after they lost their Mother, wife and Grandmother, it was the talk of the night. Sure made many of them smile during a sad situation. Love this pie (brown sugar and butter) - um, um good.

This apple pie is now my husband's, and my sister's favorite apple pie. It is absolutely scrumptious. This coming from someone is not a fan of apple pies.
