A recipe mom invented in 1970's on tight budget. Hotdogs, split, w/ my mom's wonderful mashed potatoes on top. We love these "fancy" hotdogs and serve them now to our teenagers! Read on for details...

hotdogs

potatoes-medium to large ones
yellow mustard
onion (optional)
spices: seasoned salt, black pepper, or paprika

  • 1 Peel and prepare 12 potatoes to mashed.
  • 2 Slice 10 hotdogs length wise and squirt mustard on all of them.
  • 3 Add a spoonful or two of potatoes on each hotdog, top with Lawry's salt or pepper, or paprika.
  • 4 Put in broiler for 5 minutes if oven is preheated, until spikes of potatoes are browned.
  • 5 Serve w/ corn on cob & green salad or steamed brocolli (And with homemade lemonade if you dare!)

Serve hot or refrigerate for tomorrow. My 15 yr old son has them for breakfast!!
