can (11 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crusty French loaf

tablespoon chopped pecans
3
tablespoons apricot preserves

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. On ungreased cookie sheet, shape dough into ring; pinch ends together to seal. Press or roll dough to form 8-inch round, pinching and sealing dough in center. Press out any air bubbles. Press or roll until even thickness. Sprinkle top of dough with pecans; press into dough.
  • 2 Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  • 3 Meanwhile, spoon preserves into small microwavable bowl. Microwave on High 20 to 30 seconds to soften.
  • 4 Spread preserves over warm focaccia. To serve, cut into wedges.

while i'm not overjoyed at this particular recipe - i like the idea of using french bread for 'focaccia' -- i'd put ground sausage, green peppers and cheddar cheese - or substitute bacon and use it that way - it's not the best recipe i've seen - (far from it) but i'm glad to have the idea and then kind of let my imagination run with it -- and when we're getting then for nothing - every day - i'm happy to just 'delete' those i don't particularly like.

Isn't toast easier? Like a hunk of bread would satisfy my family for breakfast! To call this a "Breakfast Focaccia" is a HUGE stretch, don't you think? If you've run out of recipe ideas, it's better to NOT PUBLISH than put out stuff like this.
