Ingredients

cans (14.9 oz each) stout or dark beer

cup water
3/4
cup packed brown sugar
1
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon ground ginger
1/8
teaspoon ground cloves
Cinnamon sticks, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 In 3-quart saucepan, slowly pour beer. When foam subsides, heat over medium-low heat.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, heat water, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ginger and cloves to simmering over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Stir mixture into beer. Cook 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated. DO NOT BOIL. Serve warm. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
