We loved this when I made it and I salt & peppered to taste, used canned tomatoes, added minced garlic, instant gravy that I just mixed in when it was on the stove top, and it thickened as it was cooking in the oven, can green beans, and ground deer meat. We will definitely be having this again!

This was very easy to make. I varied slightly as I did not have carrots or Grands. I added minced garlic and used regular refrigerated Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits. It was quite tasty. No problem with the biscuits being doughy. They cooked just fine. This is a definite remake. My husband is not a big fan of dishes with veggies but he really liked this.

I am making this tonight. I think I will add italian seasonings and garlic to make it not so bland.

I put aluminum foil over it for the first 10 minutes so the tops didn't get too brown, also make sure the stew is super hot when you put the biscuits on to make sure they cook correctly

The overall meal was delicious. I added some diced red pepper and mushrooms though. I had no potatoes so I omitted that. However, the biscuits were very doughy on the bottom and nice golden on the top. All you could taste was the dough part. And I added salt and pepper. I will probably make again, but I will try something different with the biscuits.

I made this last night...I have a four year old and a two year old, so I don't have lots of time to put together fancy dinners. I'll tell you what...this was DELICIOUS! Big hit with the family and a couple of friends of ours that we were entertaining. It really does only serve four, so making a double batch for a larger family is a consideration. Will be adding this to the "dinner rotation."

This sounds so good, I don't have time to make it today but it sounds like a good weekend dinner. I bought 2 bags of carrot strips for another recipe and have some left over, so I'm glad to find a good use for them. But I'll have to substitute canned green beans.

Made this last night and it was delicious! Substitued the carrots with mexicorn, added salt, pepper and hamburger grilling seasoning which added a little kick. Biscuits did cook faster than 20 minutes, were pretty brown after 17 minutes so next time I'll set the timer for 15. Potatoes took a while to cook so next time they'll go in the microwave for a few minutes before adding them. It's a new regular menu item at our house!

Quite good, we're going to try beef tips next time. I added a little salt & had no blandness issues. Two issues though: the biscuits cooked in much less than 20 minutes in the oven & the potatoes never got really cooked through just right, but I might have cut them a little large (3/4" square x 1/4" thick). I'll be cutting the potatoes smaller next time or precooking them a little.
