Expert Tips

If you have fresh dill in the garden, use one tablespoon of chopped dill in place of the dried dill.

Greek gyros are pita sandwiches typically made from roasted lamb. Seasoned with garlic and oregano, the ground beef in this recipe takes on the flavor of gyro.

I followed the recipe except I used Greek Yogurt (which is better and I recommend) However I gave this a low rating, because it was not great. The meat really had no flavor, it needed allot more seasonings. I really like Gyros but this really tasted nothing like them.

I rate this a three because I personally didn't care for it, but my husband really liked it. It was easy to prepare and really didn't take that long to make. I ended up using Greek yogurt to be more authentic, which I had never had before. I was unprepared for how strong it was and I think had I just used regular plain yogurt, I might have liked it better.

My husband and I loved how this tasted and how easy it was to make. The yogurt sauce with tomato and cucumber were a perfect compliment to the ground beef mixture.
