I followed the recipe to a "t" and it almost burned because there was just the 1/2 cup of liquid, what did I do wrong?

Really good!! Tweaked it abit. I added a cut up potato half way thru cooking. Used onion powder instead of the onion and a pinch a garlic powder. Also added some low sodium beef boullion granules for flavor. I cooked on high for about 4 hrs. Will certainly make again and again!

I forgot to add--we used two chopped carrots, one russet potato, and a handful of peeled pearl onions in place of the baby carrots and chopped onion. We'll make it exactly this way again!

I have made easily a dozen stew recipes and never found one that stuck. This was PHENOMENAL. I mentioned it to my husband, and the next morning he had taken the reins to get it ready for our dinner that night. And what a dinner it was! We didn't have apple juice, so we used apple cider instead and much to my surprise, apple cider goes well in a beef dish--go figure! We don't usually eat much meat (if at all), but we will put this in the rotation for sure. Bonus: We don't have endless amounts of stew to eat for a week, so we won't get tired of it! It really does serve two!

I have made this for ourselves, and thought it was so good, I served it to guests. (doubled recipe) It is absolutely wonderful! I am a bacon fanatic, so I add alot more bacon to it, and a tad more brown sugar. TASTY!!!!

Great for two, also increased for four and was a big hit with friends we had in for dinner.
