Basil Marinated Round Steak with Tomatoes

Grilled steak marinated with an array of aromatics, condiments, herbs and spices! A wonderful dinner that takes just 30 minutes of preparation!

Ingredients

Steak

cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4
cup chopped fresh basil
1/4
cup red wine vinegar

tablespoons olive oil

tablespoons honey

cloves garlic, minced

teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

lb boneless beef top round steak (1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)

Tomatoes

medium tomatoes, sliced
1/8
teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
1/4
cup chopped fresh basil

tablespoons olive oil

Steps

  • 1 In large nonmetal dish or resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix all steak ingredients except steak. Add steak; turn to coat. Cover dish or seal bag; refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight to marinate.
  • 2 Heat gas or charcoal grill. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes, turning once or twice, until of desired doneness.
  • 3 Cut steak across grain into slices; place on serving platter. Arrange tomatoes around steak. Sprinkle tomatoes with 1/8 teaspoon pepper and 1/4 cup basil; drizzle with 2 tablespoons oil.

Expert Tips

If you don't have the fresh basil, spoon 1/4 cup of basil pesto over the tomatoes instead of the basil, olive oil and pepper.
