I made this for Christmas dinner and eveery one loved it. My only issue was that it was a little to sweet so when I make it again I will cut back on the sugar.

I wouldn't make this again with the goat cheese. The bottom layer wasn't sweet enough with only 1/4 cup of suger. If I make this again, it will be all cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar.

This pie is scrumptious! I made it for my family for St. Patrick's Day and they absolutely loved it! Even my husband who is not a big pie fan, ate the first piece! I used GOAT cheese - not Feta like the other review said. Goat is very soft and palatable with cream cheese. The bananas and sauce are exquisite. The sugared top is divine! I can see why this was the State Fair Winner! I cannot wait for our next church bake-off or dessert competition, I have a new secret weapon! Congrats to Kandace!

If you used feta cheese, you did not read the recipe. It calls for "Goat Cheese". Go to any supermarket, or cheese shop, and ask for "goat cheese", and they'll hand you either a little roll-shaped package, marked "goat cheese", or a pyramid-shaped package, with the brand name "Chavrie". (Look at Chavrie.com if you are confused.) In the supermarket, it's usually in the deli section, rather than the "cheese" section where you'll find the cream cheese and shredded cheeses. Be sure you don't get the flavored kind, that uses herbs and spices. It is very much like a cream cheese, but a bit tangier. [Feta cheese is primarily sheep's milk, although some goat milk may be used. It's a whole different process, and therefore, a different cheese. It's very salty, for one thing.] If you can't find goat cheese, just double down on the cream cheese, but MAKE THIS PIE. You won't believe it till you try it!

used feta cheese and less than what it called for. It was very salty. If I would make it again, I would only use Phil cream cheese. We dumped the pie.

Although I have not tried this recipe yet, it seems (and looks) delicious! To the person that posted about the goat cheese...Feta is not a type of goat cheese. There is really only one type of goat cheese. Although it may be flavored with various herbs and spices, this recipe seems to simply call for plain goat cheese. Can't wait to try this recipe!

It sounds like a great recipe, although I haven't tried it yet. I have one issue with the recipe though. It calls for goat cheese, but does not specify which type of goat cheese. Feta is very pungent and I can't see using this in a dessert. What about mascarpone?

And this DIDN'T win the big money? Absolutely luscious. The cheese mixture is like the ice cream element of Bananas Foster.
