Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet, cook sausage and garlic over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to break up sausage, until sausage is no longer pink. Add cooking sauce, onion, basil, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and the cooked pasta; stir well.
  • 3 In small bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese and egg.
  • 4 Spoon pasta mixture into ungreased 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish. Spoon ricotta cheese mixture on top; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • 5 Cover casserole with foil spayed with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, removing foil last 10 minutes of bake time, until cheese melts and mixture is hot and bubbly.

Leftovers tasted better than when the dish was first made. Not very tasty. It was okay for a meal and something new. I probably won't make again. Did not have much taste to it. Made it just like it said. Son said it reminded him of lasagna. Not what I would really call a Ziti dish.

This was delicious. The Progresso sauce was very good. Quick and easy to prepare. Next time I will use a little less Ricotta and Mozzarella.

I also substitute with Prego Italian Sausage and Garlic spaghetti sauce and add 1/2 package chopped pepperoni's. It's easy and quick. Great meal with a salad and garlic bread.

This was fantastic! But it was too dry for us so I added more spaghetti sauce.
