I used Instant Russet Potatoes for the whole potatoes because I was in a hurry. Just pour about two cups of flakes in the milk mixture. It was delish on a cold rainy night. Also used pre-cooked bacon. Everything else was the same in the recipe.

this recipe was amazing. been looking for the perfect potato soup recipe and have found it. I did make the roux first and then proceeded with the rest of the ingredients. this is a keeper, my whole family loved it.

Instead of discarding the potato skins, sprinkle cheese and crumbled bacon bits with a small amount of sour cream for a side item. Waste not-want not!

Is a good recipe! I served a warm loaf of Tuscan bread to go along with the soup. An inexpensive, filling and easy to make meal. I will make this recipe again. The next time I will make a roux first, then proceed with the rest of the recipe.

I loved this recipe! Very easy to make, and delicious. I added more bacon, and salt and pepper.

This is such an easy recipe! I made Pulled Pork Sandwiches to go along the side. Everyone loved the soup. Thanks!

A wonderful soup recipe, although I added more salt, pepper and cheese for an even more robust flavor. My 15 year old daughter made another pot of the soup a day later. I would highly recommend this recipe to all of my friends as it was enjoyed by all!

Made this soup* for a Christmas Party...everyone loved it and the host even asked to keep the leftovers. I poured it all into a crockpot to stay warm for the party and I was told that I can make it again by my boyfriend's mother. Thanks Pillsbury! *only change is I made a roux with the flour

There is no soup more filling and satisfying than this! I peel, dice and cook my potatoes until tender. Our family prefers some texture. I make my roux (flour and butter, than add my milk)(NOTE-the longer you cook your roux the richer the soup will taste- if you pour the milk in right away, it will tend to taste like gravy) once I drain my potatoes, I toss them in and stir in the sour cream and it's ready to go in the bowl. We pile on the cheese and bacon once it's served. Yum!

This by far is the best potato soup ever, and very easy to make.
