I was happy with this recipe and did change by using round crescent rolls instead of the normal crescent rolls. My daughter loved making them. Much better way of making the best desserts for a eight year old.

What I used instead of the crescent rolls is used the round crescent rolls. I used one and folded it in half. Worked well. I used sprayed butter and spinkled the sugar/cinnamon mixed on them.

Tried these. They were tasty! Did not change the recipe at all, though I did cook them a good 1 1/2 minutes less than called for. We want them sweeter, so next time I'll add more sugar, but for what they are...cinnamon sugar crescents and NOT churros...they're excellent. :)

Although they turned out fairly well, they were not even remotely close to being churros. Those need to be deep fried and something else was missing, maybe it's in the shape. Dough is piped through a star shaped pastry bag when you make proper churros, or some other element that produces the same effect. Anyway, although these tasted good, they stuck to the cookie sheet and were the devil to remove. Frankly, I consider this recipe a big miss on nearly all counts.

Double the cinnamon & sugar before starting. Wrap a cutting board with foil and put in the freezer before unrolling the dough and working with it. Brush a little melted butter on the side of the 2nd set of rectangles that will be put down on the 1st set before putting them together, topping sticks better! Use Butter Flake crescent rolls instead of regular.

Wanted to make something easy for my friend's Cinco de Mayo party. Made 2 batches and found if you make sure the surface you are working on & the dough are cold and you don't press down too much they puff up better. On the 2nd batch I twisted them without pulling them so much and they turned out better! Oh plus I doubled both the cinnamon & sugar before starting.

Made in a hurry when my daughter told me she needed to take something for breakfast in her Spanish class for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Used the crescent sheets - seemed easier. DO NEED to use more cinnamon. I mixed up the cinn/sugar as directed, tasted it and decided it was too cinnamon-y, so added more sugar-MISTAKE-there was hardly any cinnamon taste to it after it had baked. Even though I used fresh crescent sheets, they did not puff up like the picture.

Yummy and easy! I made this for my son's 6th grade History class for Cinco de Mayo...they loved it! The only change I suggest is to spray the churros with "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray after I removed them from the oven (instead of brushing on MORE butter) and then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Also, I used way more cinnamon sugar than the recipe called for!
