can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® Crescent Recipe Creations® refrigerated seamless dough sheet

tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  • 2 If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate into 4 rectangles. Press each to 6x4-inch rectangle, pressing perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles. Press each to 6x4-inch rectangle.
  • 3 Brush tops of 2 rectangles with melted butter; sprinkle with about half of the sugar mixture. Top each with remaining rectangle; press edges lightly. Brush tops with melted butter.
  • 4 With sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each rectangle stack lengthwise into 6 strips. Twist each strip 3 times; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 5 Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Brush tops with any remaining melted butter; sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.

this is the same as the crescent rolls without icing

I was happy with this recipe and did change by using round crescent rolls instead of the normal crescent rolls. My daughter loved making them. Much better way of making the best desserts for a eight year old.

What I used instead of the crescent rolls is used the round crescent rolls. I used one and folded it in half. Worked well. I used sprayed butter and spinkled the sugar/cinnamon mixed on them.

Tried these. They were tasty! Did not change the recipe at all, though I did cook them a good 1 1/2 minutes less than called for. We want them sweeter, so next time I'll add more sugar, but for what they are...cinnamon sugar crescents and NOT churros...they're excellent. :)

Although they turned out fairly well, they were not even remotely close to being churros. Those need to be deep fried and something else was missing, maybe it's in the shape. Dough is piped through a star shaped pastry bag when you make proper churros, or some other element that produces the same effect. Anyway, although these tasted good, they stuck to the cookie sheet and were the devil to remove. Frankly, I consider this recipe a big miss on nearly all counts.
