Asian Beef in Ginger Sauce

Enjoy the classic Asian flavors in this zesty beef and rice dinner ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

cups uncooked instant rice

cups water
1
teaspoon light sesame oil or vegetable oil
1/2
lb. precut beef flank or sirloin steak strips for stir-frying
1
medium onion, thinly sliced
3
cups fresh broccoli florets
1/4
cup purchased stir-fry sauce with ginger and garlic
1/4
cup water
2
teaspoons water
2
teaspoons cornstarch

Steps

  • 1 Cook rice in 2 cups water as directed on package, omitting margarine and salt.
  • 2 Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet or wok over high heat until hot. Add beef and onion; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until beef is lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Stir in broccoli, stir-fry sauce and 1/4 cup water. Reduce heat to medium; cover and cook 4 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 In measuring cup or small bowl, combine 2 teaspoons water and cornstarch; blend well. Add to skillet; cook and stir about 1 minute or until thickened. Serve over rice.
