I found with the high cooking temp that the crust was done before the apples but I just placed for lightly over and turned temp done to 325 for 10 min until apples were tender. It is very good, pretty much apple pie without the top crust but nevertheless delicious!

I made this for New Year's Eve and it was great! However, I did take one of the suggestions and used apple pie filing instead of fresh apples. The only problem with that is, by the next day it seemed to get a little "runny", but it didn't hurt the taste at all! My husband is the apple pie eater and he said it was better than any he has ever had. I will definitely be making this again!

I increased the amount of cinnamon so the pie didn't seem overly sweet, however, will reduce sugar next time. Used golden delicious which I sliced too thin so they got too soft for my liking but the flavor was still good. As suggested by another reviewer, I prepped apples in advance, poured the lemon juice and stored in the fridge in a ziplock until ready to bake. I didn't use the glaze since we were serving it with ice cream. Made for my family at Christmas; looking forward to making some for the office, too.

I made this pie for Christmas 12/2011. It was a hit! I used Rome Apples. I was not so sure about it, and therefore I did not put it on the dessert table. When everyone saw it, they wanted to try it. I only got one serving! I also agree that when I make it again, will cut down on the sugar. Other than that, I loved it! Like the idea of adding a top crust.

Absolutely delicious and easy to make. I'm not much of a baker but this was easy to put together to take to work for a holiday party... the party was at lunch and the slab didn't make it to 10am. Can't wait to try the peach slab!

Very easy and everyone commented on how much they liked it. I especially liked that it made a large amount of small brownie size like portions that were easy to pick up and eat by hand. I almost skipped the glazed but decided to make half of the recipe and was glad that I did.
