Ingredients

  • 1 bone-in whole turkey breast (4 to 5 lb), thawed if frozen
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/3 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup apple jelly, melted
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, if desired
  • Apple wedges, if desired

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 425°F. Line broiler pan with foil; spray broiler pan rack with cooking spray. Place turkey, breast side up, on rack in pan. Rub turkey all over with softened butter. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon each of the salt and pepper. Roast uncovered 30 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
  • 2
In small bowl, mix syrup, jelly, melted butter, chopped rosemary, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Baste turkey with some of the syrup mixture.
  • 3
Roast uncovered 55 minutes longer or until thermometer reads at least 165°F, basting with remaining syrup mixture 3 times during last 15 minutes of roasting. Let stand 15 minutes before carving. Garnish platter with rosemary sprigs and apples.
