I tried the "Expert Tip" attached to these and wrapped each skewer with bacon. It took roughly 3 lbs of bacon to cover one pound of asparagus. With this course of action, the prep time was prolonged by at least an additional 10 minutes. The cook time, too, was extended for well over an hour and we opted for a glass cooking tray rather than a cookie sheet as the grease from the bacon would have just drained over into the oven (imagine cleaning up 3 lbs worth of bacon grease... no thanks)
It took a really long time to cook the bacon thoroughly in the oven; it was at least an hour at 375 degrees
