Biscuit Tips!

When Baking with Pillsbury® Refrigerated Biscuits, follow these easy steps to get the best results.

  • Refrigerate Biscuits Until Ready
    • For easiest handling, refrigerate biscuit dough until ready to use. Warm dough may become sticky and hard to handle.
  • Always Preheat
    • Preheat the oven for 10 minutes before baking. Don't skip this step!
  • Cover Until Baking Time
    • When assembling a biscuit recipe that won't be going into the oven right away, cover the food with plastic wrap and refrigerate it until baking time.
  • Two Ways to Flatten
    • To flatten biscuits, pat them out by hand or roll them out with a rolling pin.
  • How to Seal Edges
    • With crusts or other recipes in which the biscuit dough is used to line the pan, overlap the dough edges slightly and press gently to seal them.
  • Topping a Casserole
    • When topping casseroles, be sure the filling is hot before adding the biscuit dough. This will ensure the dough bakes up into a light fluffy biscuit.
  • Skip the Microwave
    • Bake biscuits in a conventional oven. Biscuits baked in a microwave oven won't brown and the insides may be doughy.
