Pillsbury Microwave Biscuits

  1. Can I prepare Pillsbury® Microwave Biscuits and Dinner Rolls in a conventional/toaster oven?
Yes, but the result may be drier, have a crunchier texture, and a darker brown appearance than those prepared in a microwave.

    BISCUITS

    • Regular Oven Directions: Heat oven to 350°F. Place desired number of biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Toaster Oven Directions: Most toaster ovens work well for 1 to 4 biscuits. Preheat to 350°F. After microwaving desired number of biscuits as directed, place 1 inch apart on toaster oven tray. Bake for 3 minutes and watch closely—biscuits may brown quickly.
    DINNER ROLLS
    • Regular Oven Directions: Heat oven to 375°F. Place desired number of rolls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Toaster Oven Directions: Most toaster ovens work well for 1 to 4 rolls. Preheat to 400°F. After microwaving desired number of biscuits as directed, place 1 inch apart on toaster oven tray. Bake for 5 minutes and watch closely—rolls may brown quickly.

  2. Should I keep the product in the refrigerator or freezer?
The product should be stored in the freezer.

  3. Can I thaw and eat the product?
Although the product is already fully baked, we recommend it be heated for best eating quality.

  4. What if my product is completely thawed?
We recommend refreezing and preparing and consuming within 24 hours for best eating quality.

  5. Should I microwave the product on a plate or can it go right on a turntable of the microwave?
For best heating and product quality, we recommend the product be placed on a microwaveable plate or paper towel. (Placing the product directly on the turntable may change the way the product cooks.)

  6. How can I tell when the biscuit or dinner roll is done or completely warmed?
It is important to note that heating in a microwave does not make the product browner or increase the size of the product. The product is done when it is warm throughout the biscuit or dinner roll. Please refer to the package directions for recommended microwave times.

  7. Why are the biscuits in a wrapper?
The clear wrapper is intended to protect the biscuits between the time they are made until they reach your home freezer.

  8. Can I microwave more than 4 biscuits/dinner rolls at once?
To insure even heating, we do not recommend microwaving more than 4 biscuits or dinner rolls at a time.

  9. Should I microwave the product in the bag?
No, you must remove the product from the package before heating it in the microwave.

  10. Should I microwave the biscuits in the wrapper?
No, the wrapper must be removed prior to heating the product in the microwave.

  11. What do I do with the second biscuit once I’ve opened the wrapper?
You can place the second biscuit back in the wrapper and/or back in the bag before placing the whole bag back in the freezer.

  12. How do I store leftover biscuits or dinner rolls?
Store leftover product in an airtight container at room temperature; for best eating quality, use within 24 hours.

  13. Can I re-heat leftover biscuits or dinner rolls?
Although the quality of the biscuit or dinner roll will not be as good, place on microwaveable paper towel. Microwave one biscuit on 50% power for 10 to 15 seconds, or until warm.

  14. What’s the best way to cut the product? It seems too soft when I try to cut it with a knife.
The product is best cut with a serrated knife using a gentle sawing motion.

  15. What’s the expected shelf life of the product?
From the date of manufacture, the shelf life of both the dinner rolls and biscuits is 6 months. After that time, flavor and texture change significantly. Each package is code dated; please check to the date for best results.

  16. What’s the difference between the Buttermilk and Butter Tastin’® biscuits?
The main difference is in the amount of butter flavor in the dough. In addition to the higher flavor level, the Butter Tastin’® formula contains yellow shortening rather than white.

  17. What if I cannot find my favorite Pillsbury® Microwave product?
PPillsbury would like all stores to carry all our products. Unfortunately, this doesn't always happen. We recommend you express your interest in a particular product to your local store manager. We appreciate your interest!
