A Few Questions with Juliann Pelton:
What’s your memory of the first time you ever made something?
I remember putting together a fruit salad in Girl Scouts. I also remember trying to recreate that salad later but with mayo instead of whipped cream. Not a good idea.
What’s your favorite family meal?
Little mini meat loaves (made in a cupcake pan) with roasted potatoes. Everyone eats them without complaining.
What’s your favorite kitchen tool?
My stand mixer. I cried tears of happiness the day I got it and have loved it every day since.
What’s the best cooking tip you’ve ever received?
My big sister always tells me, “Don’t forget to set the timer!” I always tell myself I’ll just keep an eye on what’s in the oven, but I always forget.
What do you love most about cooking?
I really like just looking in my cupboards to see what sort of concoction I can come up with. And when it turns out to be good, it’s even better!
What’s your greatest accomplishment?
My family. I married an awesome guy, and we created awesome little people. I’m proud of them every day.
What’s one of your hobbies?
I love taking pictures, mostly of my kids. Their little faces up close are the most precious things in the world. I also love camping and biking. This summer I’m doing my first triathlon!
