We’re in the thick of the Call for Entries for the 47th Bake-Off® Contest. Up until noon on Thursday, you can enter your recipe for Simply Sweet Treats and Savory Snacks & Sides. Once noon hits, the gates are open for entries in the Amazing Doable Dinners and Weekend Breakfast Wows categories, which are open through May 8 – plenty of time to get to making!

Have you sent in a recipe? I hope you’re planning to because the stakes are … generous. We’re talking a $1 million prize. 

At Pillsbury, the most common feedback we hear about entering the contest is that home cooks don’t feel like their recipe would be good enough. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Look at last year’s Grand-Prize Winner, Glori Spriggs, and her delicious Loaded Potato Pinwheels. She took two simple ideas – a loaded potato and a pinwheel appetizer – and melded them into a winning recipe. I encourage you to get to making! Even if it’s an easy idea, it doesn’t mean it’s not a winning one. (We at Pillsbury are all about easy.) 

The guidelines to enter are pretty simple. Your recipe needs to use two (or more) of a selected group of food products, take less than 30 minutes of prep time and use seven ingredients or less. (That doesn’t include things like salt and pepper, so wipe that sweat off your brow.) Check out this year’s rules for more info.
