Make the first day great

A few ideas can turn the first day of school into the best day.

Your kids'll be so excited for school to start, they won't miss summer!

Nobody wants to see summer end! But get your kids pumped about the first day of school by starting a fun family tradition. They'll look forward to it year after year.

Bus stop treats: Surprise your kids at the bus stop at the end of their fist day with a tray of warm Pillsbury Flaky Cinnamon Twists®. They’re ready in minutes. Don’t forget to save a couple for the bus driver!

Little surprises: Tuck a little gift into your kids' backpacks for a first-day-of-school reminder that you’re thinking of them. It doesn't need to be elaborate — think a new cell phone case, personalized notebook or charm bracelet.

School colors at breakfast: Decorate your kitchen table in your kids' school colors for a fun, festive first-day-of-school breakfast. Set the table the night before to save time in the morning. Colored paper place mats, plates and napkins are a great start — plus they make cleanup super quick! Write personal notes on each place mat (“Cole is a 3rd grader!” or “Happy 1st day of middle school, Emma!”).
