I’ve never been to New Orleans. Sure, I’ve been to the fake French Quarter in Disney World, and I’ve celebrated Mardi Gras Midwest-style (i.e., wear some beads and eat king cake). But I’ve never actually traveled down to the bayou. It’s definitely at the top of my bucket list, though!

For now, I can bring a taste of the Big Easy home with a classic dessert—beignets. These yummy doughnuts are a cinch to make when you use Pillsbury® pizza crust. Just three simple ingredients and you’re done!

Here’s how to make them:

First, gather your ingredients: oil, pizza crust and powdered sugar.

Next, heat the oil in a large skillet, and slice the pizza dough into nine equal rectangles.

Carefully drop a few pieces of dough at a time into the hot oil until they turn a deep, golden brown on both sides.
