Classic Chicken Pot Pie ...

Good Afternoon,

I have made your Classic Chicken Pot Pie many, many times and it's always a hit! My question is this; Can it be made ahead of time and frozen?

I'm leaving on vacation and my daughter will be house sitting. I inquired if she would like me to buy certain ingredients/foods to have in the house while I'm away, but all she requested was your chicken pot pie!!! I would like to make it and freeze it so that all she would have to do is pop it in the oven ... Can this be done? Do I need to adjust cooking temperatures and time? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated ...

Sincerely, Ben Waer

Oh, yes you sure can freeze your pot pie, I have done it lots of times.

What I found that help for me was, once I assemble the pie and add top crust I bake it until the the crust is just a little brown let it cool  secure it tightly then freeze. It saves for up to several weeks. The day  you are ready to serve let it thaw completely, heat oven at 350o cook for 25 to 35 minutes top crust should be golden brown.
