Holliday Classic II recipe - Help - pages stuck together

I have an old Holliday Classic II paperback cookbook - the kind you pick up at the grocery store.  It is Pillsbury Classics - copyright 1983.  One of our favorite cookies is in it.  Unfortuanately, the pages got stuck together and now I can't read the recipe!!  It is on page 53 - Orange Iced Cranberry Cookies.  If anyone has this book, could you please tell me - what are the ingredients for the cookie - I can still read the Icing ingredients and the mixing directions.

Here is the recipe you requested....

Orange Iced Cranberry Cookies

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cranberries *
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet. In large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, sour cream, vanilla and eggs; blend well.

Add flour, baking soda and baking powder; blend well. Gently stir in cranberries and nuts. (Do not overmix.) Drop by teaspoonsful, 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets; cool. Makes approximately 5 dozen.

* If using frozen cranberries, thaw and drain first.

Icing

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel, if desired
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of orange juice

Blend and spread on cooled cookies.

Thank you SO MUCH!!!  I tried to get this directly from Pillsbury but they didn't have this in their archives - they gave me something similar but it was not quite the same.  My family loves this cookie - it's a great holiday cookie.  I really do appreciate that you took the time to respond!!

Thank you so much.  In 1983 I was just out of high school and went home to my mother's house at christmas time and found this iced cranberry cookie recipe and made them - and loved them.  In the 25 years since then I have off and on thought of this cookie and searched online for recipes but never found it till now.  I can't wait to make them.

Re: Holliday Classic II recipe - Help - pages stuck together

Is that recipe book the one that has the quiche recipe, also (I think it's pictured on the front)??? That was my FAVORITE cookbook for the holidays! Also had a recipe for a coffee cake made out of biscuits with cream cheese inside!! And, a recipe for peanut bars, with marshmellow in the filling...To die for! I've somehow lost it. I can only think someone may have 'borrowed' it & I don't remember loaning it! I'd sell my teeth to have another copy!! If someone can verify that's the one I need, maybe I can request a new one from Pillsbury?

Lost 2007 Holiday recipe cookbook

I lost the 2007 Hoilday book that my daughter and I used to make cookies togetherlast year and no time to get a new one for this year. I only have off this weekend and want to enjoy this time with my daughter. We used three recipes from the book - a smores recipe, lemon bar recipe and brittle recipe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
