an old recipie

I'm trying to find an old recipie for apple raisin nut bread. I've had it for years and have lost it in a move. If any one out there has it please post it for me.

Re: an old recipie

Hi Medb:

Here are a couple that could work:

or

http://www.tablespoon.com/recipes/fresh-apple-bread-recipe/1/

  • 1  cup sugar
  • 1/2  cup shortening
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 2  eggs
  • 2  cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
  • 1  teaspoon baking powder
  • 1  teaspoon baking soda
  • 1  teaspoon ground cinnamon, if desired
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 2  cups chopped peeled apples (about 2 medium)
  • 1/2  cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2  cup raisins
  • 1  tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4  teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Heat oven to 350º. Grease bottom only of loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches. Mix 1 cup sugar, the shortening, vanilla and eggs. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and the salt until smooth (batter will be thick). Stir in apples, nuts and raisins. Spread in pan. Mix 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over batter. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted about 1 inch from center comes out clean. Immediately loosen sides of loaf from pan; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack before slicing.
Hope that helps or inspires! Sincerely, Cate
