Re: bake-off contest

Hi caleb123:

I would continue to check Pillsbury.com website for updates. The current Bake Off 44 doesn’t end until next year so we haven’t received plans for the next one yet.

Also, if you haven't yet- check out this cooking contest!

Re: bake-off contest

Hi Cate C,

There are many of us that have entered a recipe for the Bakeoff and anxiously check every form of communication we have to see if we have been selected!  We would so appreciate any insights you can share as to how finalists will be notified; is is mail, email, phone, Fax UPS?  Also, if we have not heard from Pilsbury yet, is it reasonable to assume we are not on the list?  It's OK! We just need to know (if I step away and check my PC one more time, my kids will KILL ME!!).

Thank you Pilsbury for a wonderful idea! I've really enjoyed the process, perfecting a recipe I love, entering it and then finding out how many people were rooting for me has been heart-warming!

Thank you,

guacamole

I also was wondering how the winners are notified. Also if our recipe is not one of the finalist,  can Pillsbury use the recipe for other purposes. I certainly enjoyed voting for the 10 finalist. What an assortment of great recipes.Good luck to everyone

Re: 512 area code bake-off contest

Hi,

Happy to hear some people who check in were notified; however in answer to the 512 area code person that is an Austin, TX area code.....so...not sure where pillsbury is.

Well it looks like the online voting does not end until they have the next contestant which begins this week....Round 10....So we are all guessing here....but I would suspect they would not notify everyone until after that voting is finished; but we can only guess at this point.

I would just like to know if they have notified everyone out of the ninety being picked by them....if not we just have to keep cooking...

Re: bake-off contest

Cate C,

Two questions...

If someone enters the monthly contest and wins, can they still become a finalist in a future bake off?

Also, how many entries did the you receive this year for the bake off?  Just curious.

Thanks, Jen

Re: bake-off contest

I think it's every two years.  So, the contest will probably open Jan/Feb 2011 and recipes will need to be in by April 2011.  Good luck.  It's addicting!!

Re: bake-off contest

O.K...let's see...LAST YEAR 2008 THEY HAD A WINNER WITH A PEANUTBUTTER COOKIE...

THIS IS 2009...?!

Did I read something wrong...?

That would be, just last year they had a bake-off, too...

So I'm guessing every year...

ALSO...last years Bake-off was #43... this is the 44th...!!

Re: bake-off contest

Hi ,

I know 2011 sounds so far away.  I could be wrong since this is only the second bake off I've entered but here's my reasoning.  The last bake off was 2008 and I think those entries were submitted in 2007.  There's no actual bake off in 2009 - just submitting and judging entries.  Then the actual bake off is 2010.  So, I think the next recipes submitted will be 2011.  I'm not an expert though.  I'm as anxious as everyone else to get going.  Good luck and happy cooking!!

Re: bake-off contest

Hello!

I was in the 1996 Bake-Off.  I believe the Bake-Off used to take place every year, but now occurs every two years.  I have noticed slight changes in the timing of submissions and the actual month for the Bake-Off in the years since I participated.  For the upcoming 44th Bake-Off, recipes had to be submitted by a date in April 2009, but the actual contest will be in April 2010.  I'm guessing for the 45th Bake-Off, the recipes will be due in 2011, but the contest will be in 2012.  (The year I participated, recipes were due in September 1995, finalists were notified in November, then the contest was in Feb. or March 1996, so the time frame was much shorter.)

I'm guessing they want more time to a) advertise the Bake-Off, get publicity, etc. and b) verify that the recipes are original (there are soooooo many on the internet now and recipes get "borrowed" all the time - my Bake-Off recipe even ended up in a non-Pillsbury cookbook you can buy through Amazon.  The author changed one or two little things about the ingredients - like mini chips instead of regular - and called it her own!)

Good luck to all.

-Amy

Re: bake-off contest

Wow, that was helpful information.   Thanks for sharing!!!  Do you know how long it took them to notify the finalists?  No one has addressed that on this blog yet.  Still don't know if they are finished notfying everyone.  Would be nice to know!

Do you plan to participate in future bake-offs?  I think its a fun way to come up with some new recipes!!!
