I'm dying to know if anyone has been notified that they are finalists for the Bakeoff yet.  I entered for the first time this year, so I know I shouldn't get my hopes up but can't help it.  If anyone was told they are a finalist please answer! Thanks.

I know lots of us are on pins and needles hoping for a call today.  Please keep us posted if you should hear - we'll all be excited for you!

I have not been contacted, but do you know how they will do the contacting? E-mail? Phone Call? I'm not holding out much hope as I know for the last bake off, a lot fo finalists knew BY the first, but here's hoping!

I am feeling exactly the same way-but I think the finalists may be prohibited from saying anything until Pillsbury "officially" posts the finalists.  I was lucky enough to be a finalist in 2008 and when they called, they let me know that I was a Potential finalist and had to fill out many forms and keep quiet until it was official.  Don't know if it is still the same way but I will be staring at my phone  today!!  Good luck to you!

Are they only contacting by phone?  I am at work.  Will they also send letter and email?  This is also my first year so not getting my hopes up but do not want to miss out on any good news either :)

I also want to know the way they contact you because I also submitted recipes this time.  Can't wait to hear if my recipe is selected.

Sometimes they notify early, sometimes on time.  I wish that someone would just let us know if they have notified, are notifyng or are finished notifying. I really don't see what the harm is in that.  I know several people who have entered and no one has heard a word. 

Well I'm back and though I still haven't heard anything about myself, I can give info on someone else...

My sister-in-law also entered recipies with a bunch of other women who work on her floor, and one of thier girls got in. She found out two days ago. I can't give her name, and she can't officially say anything until the 'official list' is posted through Pillsbury, but yeah, she got the call on Tuesday.

Hi, yes we are all waiting!  Last contest they were calling by phone!  I jump when the phone rings now!  I'll be very disappointed if the call never comes.  Apparently from the previous posts people are already being notified even before the 1st of Sept.  I'm surprised as they are still voting on line for 2 sweet treats recipes that just started today and lasts for 2 weeks.  Somewhere I lost count of the # that were competing against each other on line and thought the last two recipes that ended today were the end of the public getting to choose the finalist.   This last set will not know for 2 weeks, so perhaps it will be going on until then .  Good luck!

evegene --- I believe the 2 sweets that came up for PBO/vote this week are the next to last.  The last set will most likely not be over until 9/21 or so.  A friend told me that none of the ones that have been up for votes will know until ALL the vote ones are over... so about early october!   What a long wait for the earlier ones!   I believe the gal who told me this said all that info was on the entry info.

I'm under the impression for the 90 that are being notified now - that they are considered 'potential' finalists ... and until all the paper work and queries are done ... they will not be considered definitely.  Occasionally, there is some reason why one of these does not end up as finalist ... and, in that case, some one else will be contacted ... which makes it longer for all to hear.   I doubt the 100 list will go up until October when the voting is over (at least these 20 who will end up as 10 - have all their paper work, etc. done)   There was none of this 'voting' when I did my 3rd pbo .. but I was told I was 'potential' until all the paper work was in.  I think this may be why many are keeping things rather close .

jds12...thanks for the info.  This present set lasts two weeks...until the 14th then if there is another set after that it will be the 28th until the end of that voting time.  Yes, I believe they will not be notified until all of the on-line voting is complete.

Last PBO I was one of the 90 "potential finalists" notified on Sept 1st and it took about 1 month to verify that I qualified.  Yes, they have to keep things confidential until all the t's are crossed, etc.  Just hard wondering if that phone is going to ring and did I miss a call when I went out, etc. since it looks like they are doing this over a period of time.  So it sounds like you are no longer eligible to enter!  Did you win as a finalist the max. 3 times?  Curious!  I won the appetizer category at the last Bakeoff...still hopeful that all the calls have not been made!

I'm sure everyone is as sad as I am.  We all put in some spectacular recipes!!!!  We didn't get the call, but we are all incredible chefs!  Oh and margaritas help a little :)

Do you think we still ahve a chance to get a call? Do they try again if they dont get an answer the first time? or leave a message ?
