Re: Round 1: Breakfast Crostatas vs. Italian Brunch Strata

I voted for the Breakfast Crostatas - I prefer the combination of the egg and cheese and also the crusty french loaf over the crescent rolls - the crostatas just tempted my taste buds a bit more to actually prepare it.  Both recipes sound delicious - but since we have to choose one - it was the crostata.  Alao, I  believe the crostata was quicker to prepare and bake. and required fewer ingredients  Smile

Re: Round 1: Breakfast Crostatas vs. Italian Brunch Strata

The pictures of both look very nice /attractive ... and I'm sure they're both very tasty.

I did vote ... tho I'm not saying which one I voted for.   But I've printed off both recipes .. and I'm going to put them in a folder by the computer ... and will do the same with the new ones every 2 weeks.  I mark which one I voted for and (for fun) I'll check back in the fall when they list all the 100 ... to see how my 'guessing' went!

I did that 2 years ago and got quite a few of them correct!  Hey I like games, guessing, etc. etc... so  something to keep me out of trouble!!!

The pictures look awesome! Does anyone know if the pictures were submitted by the contestants or by Pillsbury?  Do you have to submit a picture of your recipe when you enter?  Thank you!

Hi KCORNLIUS: No photo was needed for the entry process. Pillsbury took the photos. Sincerely, Cate

I will print & try both but bet that my kids won't try the one with the obvious egg! That's OK cause my husband really likes things made with cresent dough.

I think the print recipe button and the vote for this recipe button are too close together because I thought I clicked on print recipe and ended up voting for that recipe. That happened before I got to look at how each recipe was made. I really would have voted for the other recipe after having looked at the details. Maybe in the future it can be moved apart a bit.

They both look good...but the Strata just seems extra heavy/rich so I went with the Crostatas...both entries were great however...this was just a personal preference:) Good luck to you both!!!

I also voted for the Italian Brunch Strata. I made the Strata for my ladies brunch.

They all wanted the recipe. They thought it was delicious as did I. I also told them

how easy it was to make. I definitely will make the Italian Brunch Strata again and again!!!

Ah, sorry. They are not up anymore nikki. Please print any You Be The Judge recipes that you want to try within the two weeks that they are live. The good news is that you will see 10 of the 20 recipes again when Bake-Off starts.

Sincerely, Cate
