Pecan Pie Help

Hi all,

My husband really likes pecan pie and I have decided to try my hand at one this Christmas.  However, I'm not sure which pie crust to use.  I usually use the frozen deep dish pie shells when I make my sweet potatoe pies.  And since I have the recipe in my head, I know that I will have just enough filling to completely fill 2 shells.  But since I will be using a standard recipe for the pecan pie, I'm not sure if I should use a regular or deep dish pie shell.  Can anyone help me?  Christmas is only 1 week away.  Thanks in advance.

Does the recipe you're going to use have a size in it?  The one I use every year for Thanksgiving (Betty Crocker cookbook) says 9in crust.  I use a standard size 9 in pie crust and it fills it perfectly.  I hope that helps.  Good luck!!

Re: Pecan Pie Help

It does call for a 9 inch.  So I should probably use a regular instead of deep dish.
