Tell us why you love the Doughboy!

Tell us. Is it his cute giggle? Is it because you met him in person? Or the fact that he likes to get dressed up for holidays?  Looking forward to reading your stories, memories and reasons. Smile

Sincerely, Cate

He's cute and he's always happy. I'm glad Pillsbury never tried to give him a makeover. I like him the way he is.

Re: Tell us why you love the Doughboy!

I live in the UK and demand that you fly Doughboy over here so I can meet him!  I have been in love with him since the mid 1990s when the Pillsbury commercials were shown on UK telly...they're not on anymore - why???  I would love to visit him in the US but alas, I'm an unemployed cartoonist and can't afford. If Doughboy visits the UK I'll give him a proper English greeting - a cup of afternoon tea (Earl Grey naturally), and a scone with jam.  Jolly good, wot?

Baking alas, is not a skill I am blessed with.  I am very good at burning cakes and rendering them inedible.  Cakes baked by me make excellent doorstops.

So where can I get Doughboy's autograph???  Please let me know! Oh and here is my very own Doughboy - he comes everywhere with me:

Oh my! How could you not love him. His giggle is so cute!

But expecially I loved it when that finger would appear and touch his belly Smile and he would giggle! What fun!

He hs changed over the years, but I love him now the best. He's just the cutest thing I've ever seen!

I can't wait to visit the Doughboy page and see what fun I can have. Right Hug

Re: Tell us why you love the Doughboy!

When I was a little girl around 5 years old i loved the commercials they had about him popping out of the biscuits when the woman would bang the package and he would pop out. My mom went shopping and bought about 10 of them and i remember waking up finding the biscuits and opening each and everyone hoping he would pop out of at least one of them and i remember saying he's not in this one maybe he'll be in this one and so on. So now iam devistated that hes not in anyone of them and then finally my mom wakes up comes in the kitchen and says what are u doing and i was hysterical crying telling her mommy hes not in any of them. As mad as she was she felt so bad and realized how much i loved him and now iam 47 and i still love him and thats my story of the doughboy!!!

Sincerely,

Donna Lastorino

I think he's at the Bake-Off event, and I believe he has been at some of the of Pie Making contests ( http://www.pillsbury.com/products/pie-crust/default.aspx?wt.mc_id=vanityURL_multichannel_pie&esrc=909 )

I'll ask the team if he's making any showings coming up.

Sincerely, Cate

Re: Tell us why you love the Doughboy!

His cute giggle, that is cute, and he dress's for the holidays yes those are all great assets. This one is even better than all those.

He is a Family Tradition from my Mom's Mom, to Mom, to Me and now to my Son. After my loss of my Mother I was going to the store and the clouds formed this Doughboy tried to photograph it but couldn't get the camera fast enough. I wasn't the only one to see him a few others in the parking lot couldn't believe it either. That year my Son got to go to the Collegiate World Games in China for Hockey. The mascot for those games reminded me of the Doughboy. I didn't get to see My Son play in those games but he made the leader board with the first goal for Team USA 5mn in. It was the Doughboy, I believe in the Magic of all family traditions. The Doughboy at the World Games in China I tried to attach a picture I don't think I've done it right here is the link that you can see what I mean.

Let me know what you think of the picture of him in China.

I love the Doughboy because he is a tradition shared even from heaven.
